New Brickell-based operation to coordinate regional underwriting, distribution and technical functions

Allianz Commercial has completed the leadership structure for its Miami Latin America Hub, a new operation in the Brickell financial district designed to serve clients and brokers across Latin America ahead of an official launch scheduled for February 2026.

The company said the hub will deliver facultative reinsurance and commercial insurance capabilities across multiple lines, including property, construction and natural resources, marine, entertainment, financial lines (including cyber), and multinational services. The office is located at 1111 Brickell Ave., 10th Floor.

Scope: supporting four core markets, expanding into additional territories

Miami will function as a regional platform supporting existing business operations tied to Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, while also aiming to expand reinsurance activity into other Latin American territories, including Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Panama. The model is intended to connect regional demand with Allianz Commercial’s global underwriting, technical and capacity resources.

Named leaders and assigned responsibilities

The leadership team includes a mix of executives relocating from Latin America and Miami-based roles focused on underwriting, distribution and technical governance:

  • Guilherme Bizzo: Regional Managing Director office lead, also overseeing multinational and alternative risk transfer operations, after relocating from Brazil in December.
  • Angelica Torres: Head of Facultative Desk, responsible for coordinating placements and broker relationships and for expanding facultative capacity across lines of business.
  • Eduardo Fontes: Head of Distribution, tasked with regional distribution strategy and business development, including strengthening broker partnerships.
  • Felipe Orsi: Head of Property, leading property-related insurance and facultative reinsurance strategy across Latin America, including complex property underwriting and portfolio expansion.
  • Ivan Coronado: Head of Natural Resources & Construction, overseeing risks spanning power generation, oil and gas, renewables, heavy industries and construction.
  • Monica Oyaga: Head of Long Tail, expected to relocate from Colombia in early 2026 to lead underwriting strategy and portfolio management across financial lines, cyber, entertainment and other long-tail offerings.
  • Daniel Castrillon: Chief Technical Officer, relocated from Colombia in December to lead technical operations, including underwriting discipline, risk assessment frameworks and portfolio quality.

Regional coordination beyond Miami

The Miami leadership team is set to work in close coordination with Gabriela Rosa in Brazil and Diego Reppetti in Argentina, completing a regional structure intended to maintain in-market alignment with local operating entities.

The leadership team was confirmed ahead of the hub’s February 2026 opening, with the company framing the timing as part of its broader approach to serving Latin America and integrating regional operations within the Americas.

The company said an official opening ceremony is planned during Miami (Re)insurance Week in February 2026.
