Metrorail Delays at Dadeland South and Ramp Closures at Golden Glades Today

Monday Morning Traffic and Transit Overview

As the work week begins this Monday, March 2, 2026, Miami commuters should prepare for significant transit adjustments and ongoing construction across major expressways. Specifically, rail users and those traveling through the Golden Glades Interchange will face the most notable disruptions during the morning rush due to long-term infrastructure projects reaching critical phases.

Metrorail and Public Transport Alerts

Miami-Dade Transit has issued a priority alert for Metrorail users. As of this morning, Dadeland South Station is operating with single-tracking. This measure is part of the Dadeland South Intermodal Station project, which involves the installation of new weather-protective canopies for both the Metrorail and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) platforms. For approximately the next five weeks, trains will serve only one side of the platform, leading to longer headways and potential overcrowding on the Green and Orange lines. Commuters are advised to allow at least 20 extra minutes for their journey.

  • Metromover: Technical difficulties continue to affect the Inner Loop service. Passengers should use the Brickell or Omni Loops to reach their destinations. Outbound trains are also currently bypassing the Museum Park station.
  • Bus Detours: Route 77 remains detoured in the northbound direction on NW 7th Avenue between 183rd Street and 185th Drive due to active road construction.
  • MetroConnect: Riders are reminded that MetroConnect has transitioned to a weekday-only operation as of February 1. Service is available today from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Major Expressway and Roadwork Updates

The I-395/SR 836/I-95 Design-Build Project remains a primary source of morning congestion. Specific detours remain in place for the northbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395. Drivers should also remain alert for lane closures on NE 1st Avenue and NW 14th Street as part of the ongoing reconstruction efforts.

On the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826), construction continues for the capacity improvement project. Work is currently centered on the relocation of the southbound express lane entrance from NW 154th Street to NW 103rd Street. Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane closures and shifted traffic patterns near Miami Lakes Drive. In the evening, FDOT will host a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. at the enVision Hotel Miami International Airport to discuss further preferred alternatives for the SR 826/South PD&E Study.

Golden Glades Interchange and Turnpike Notices

Real-time reports from Florida’s Turnpike indicate that the exit ramp to the Golden Glades Interchange (linking to I-95, US-441, and SR 826) has seen periodic closures and right-shoulder blockages due to maintenance. Commuters entering the city from northern Miami-Dade should consider staying in the general-use lanes of I-95 to avoid potential bottlenecks at the ramp connectors.
