City Commission and OMNI CRA Meetings

The City of Miami will hold its regularly scheduled City Commission meeting today, Thursday, February 12, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM. The session is being conducted at Miami City Hall, located at 3500 Pan American Drive. This meeting serves as a primary forum for local legislative action and public discourse. Residents are encouraged to attend in person or view the live broadcast via the city's official website, YouTube channel, or local public access channels 77 (Comcast) and 99 (AT&T).

Immediately following the start of the Commission session, the OMNI Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is scheduled to convene at 9:30 AM in the same chambers. This meeting will address redevelopment projects and regular business within the OMNI district. Public comment for both meetings remains open until the Chairperson officially closes the floor for the respective agenda items.

Public Resource and Funding Notifications

Official notices have been posted regarding two significant community development projects currently under review by the City Commission:

  • District 5 Infill Housing: The city is proposing an allocation of approximately $49,788.20 to cover additional project costs for infill single-family home units located at 5445 NW 1st Court. This project aims to modify and complete essential housing structures in the area.
  • District 4 Commercial Pilot Program: A proposal is on the table to transfer $317,500.00 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to establish a commercial façade and code compliance pilot program. This initiative is designed to revitalize local business exteriors and ensure safety standards.

Critical Health and Utility Advisories

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, in conjunction with the South Florida Water Management District, has issued a voluntary water conservation warning. Due to ongoing drought conditions affecting the Biscayne Aquifer, residents are urged to reduce non-essential water usage, such as excessive lawn irrigation and car washing, to protect the long-term sustainability of the regional water supply.

Additionally, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County remains under a mosquito-borne illness alert. Residents and visitors are advised to apply mosquito repellent and drain any standing water around their properties to mitigate the risk of local transmission, following several confirmed cases of travel-related malaria and dengue earlier this year.

Community Cultural Initiatives

The City of Miami's Art in Public Places Division has issued a Request for Qualifications for local and national artists. The city is seeking proposals for the Miami Founders Monument, a permanent installation intended to honor the individuals who incorporated the city in 1896. This major civic project will be located at the new City Administration Building. Interested artists must submit their qualifications through the official city portal by the end of the current month.
