Official Meeting Notices for Wednesday, January 28, 2026

The City of Miami and Miami-Dade County have scheduled several important public meetings and administrative hearings for today. Residents are encouraged to participate in these sessions to stay informed on local governance and community development initiatives.

  • Housing & Commercial Loan Committee (HCLC): A public meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Miami City Hall, Commission Chambers (3500 Pan American Drive). The committee will discuss funding amendments affecting the City’s Annual Action Plan for U.S. HUD and other city-funded programs.
  • Behavioral Health Advisory Board: Miami-Dade County will host this meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers located on the second floor of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center (111 NW First Street). This board oversees critical mental health and substance abuse services across the county.
  • Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC): This committee will convene at 11:00 a.m. at Miami City Hall to review policies and recommend incentives for the development of affordable housing within city limits.
  • Miami DDA Finance Committee: The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Finance Committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. at 201 S. Biscayne Blvd., Suite 2600.

Public Health Advisory: Chikungunya Virus Alert

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County has issued a health advisory following the confirmation of the first locally acquired case of chikungunya in 2026. This mosquito-borne virus causes high fever and severe joint pain. Residents are urged to practice the "Drain and Cover" method: drain standing water from containers around the home and cover skin with repellent or long-sleeved clothing to prevent mosquito bites. This advisory is particularly critical for residents in high-density submarkets and those returning from international travel.

Public Comment Period: Annual Housing Plan

The Miami-Dade Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has opened a 45-day public comment period, effective through March 7, 2026. Citizens are invited to review and provide feedback on the proposed Annual Public Housing Agency Plan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Documents are available for inspection at PHCD site management offices or the main administrative office at 701 NW 1st Court.
