Public Notice: Transit Initiatives and Civic Service Announcements

Official City and County Notices for February 4, 2026
The following official notices, public service announcements, and committee schedules are active for the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review these updates regarding local governance, transit infrastructure, and community programs.
Transit and Infrastructure Updates
- CITT Transit Conversation: Today, February 4, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) Director Stacy Miller will meet with officials from the Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (CITT). The session will focus on the latest transit expansion initiatives and includes the official announcement of the 2025 CITT Ambassador of the Year.
- Metromover Modernization: Public works officials remind riders that the Metromover system remains under an extensive renovation schedule. Subsystem upgrades and vehicle retrofitting are ongoing to replace infrastructure dating back to 1986. Commuters should expect periodic single-tracking and modified schedules through mid-2026.
- Wetland Protection Veto: Mayor Levine Cava has officially issued a veto for Ordinance No. 26-4. This action is intended to uphold the county’s wetland protections and maintain responsible growth policies by rejecting proposed land-use changes that would impact local environmental safeguards.
Committee Meetings and Local Governance
The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners has scheduled several committee meetings today at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center:
- Airport Committee (AC): Meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers to discuss facility modernization and the MIA Modernization in Action Plan.
- Port and Resiliency Committee (PRC): Meeting at 1:00 p.m. to review shore power initiatives and terminal expansion at PortMiami.
Community and Health Advisories
- Cold Weather Emergency Outreach: The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust’s Cold Weather Emergency Plan remains active. Outreach teams are continuing their efforts to provide emergency shelter and assistance to unsheltered individuals following several consecutive days of low temperatures.
- Call to Artists: Starting today, February 4, the City of Miami Art in Public Places program is accepting applications for permanent art commissions at the new City of Miami Administration Building. The RFQ is open to professional artists to create site-responsive works for the new civic hub. Applications will be accepted through March 4, 2026.
- HUD Funding Amendments: The Department of Housing and Community Development is currently in a public comment period regarding funding amendments for the Annual Action Plan.
